How many people do we consult before getting married; or for that matter how many people do we check with about your boyfriend / girlfriends’ personality or character before getting into a relationship with them. It’s like what you like what you need – you wouldn’t need anyone to think about what you want and why your want.
Then why is it that we retort to marriage counselors to save your marriage, do we want them to tell us what we are, by telling them everything about us [that’s what you have to do when you visit a marriage counselor – explain about yourselves] any dumb person can tell you after listening to what you tell them.
Or perhaps, we want them to give us a solution on how to save a marriage which we can’t figure out; or even further, we want others to tell your partner to do certain things and not do certain things to help save marriage because it’s affecting you and you can’t say that. Isn’t that funny, it’s our marriage life, it’s our partner and we go to a different person for an advice.
People, be realistic; it’s true that others can bring a different perspective to the issue but you can’t really convince a person to save the marriage if the issues are not addressed. Be bold enough to face them, if you happen to commit blunders, accept it. If someone is true to yourself and had been a safe marriage so far, means there is nothing which can hold you back from saving a marriage.
When you have issues in your marriage, it’s a best practice to get away from your daily routine of life, get to a place where you both only exist and you can spend all the time you have together. Set expectations that both will come out in the open and talk their heart out – No matter what; they have to talk everything about the other partner and if there are any other things which are influencing your marriage. Even if it takes days together, give it; because the more you express, more clarity is what you bring in which is what needed to save your marriage.
